Strategic Planning
A strategic planning process identifies where you would like to see your
organization in the next three to five years and develops the goals and
objectives to get there. The development of the plan is based on
understanding your current organization and your vision for the future,
the internal and external environment, and the scope of the
organization's mission.
Board Development
A customized Board consultation looks at your current governance
structure and how to move your board to the next level. Your engagement
may include a focused Board survey, a comprehensive Bylaws analysis, a
customized Board training, and the development of a phased
implementation plan for any recommendations or changes.
Organizational Assessment
An organizational assessment of your agency's management and governance
practices to build effectiveness, efficiency and capacity. Using tools
developed by the Center, a consultant will review and make recommendations
in the following areas: Governance, Executive Leadership, Mission &
Program Effectiveness, Financial Management, Fund Development, Human Resource
Management, Strategic & Operational Planning, Technology & Marketing.

Succession Planning & Executive Transition Management
Planning for executive transition, not only reduces risks, but also provides an opportunity to advance the capacity and impact of the organization during the transition. The Center’s Succession Planning and Executive Transition Management services give board leaders and executives a chance to take charge of transitions and create opportunities for organizational success and sustainability. Fund Development
A customized consultation is provided relating to your agency's specific
fund development needs. Development consultations vary widely in scope
from a 3-hour "sit down" to provide general information-sharing
in a particular topic to a more comprehensive consultation including guidance
and training for the development committee or board. Specific consultation
topics include annual campaigns, donor cultivation, event planning, membership
development, preparation of case statements, development committee functions,
fund-raising duties of board members, etc.
Marketing
A customized marketing consultation may include development and
implementation of a documented marketing plan; brand or logo design;
facilitation of surveys or focus groups to obtain client, funder, and/or
community feedback; website design and development; and the design of
marketing collateral.
Crisis Communication
A customized crisis communication consultation includes a comprehensive
analysis of your current crisis plan and recommendations to improve the
plan. The plan may include interviews with key staff and board, writing of
scripts for media communication, or training for staff and board on crisis
communication with media.
Volunteer Resources
These customized sessions with a volunteer management consultant might
include: volunteer program audit – an on-site look at your existing
volunteer program, evaluating recruitment, retention, productivity and
volunteer evaluation; new volunteer program development; curriculum and
training design; volunteer staff coaching; training for agency staff on
working with volunteers; assisting your organization in hiring a top performer
in the volunteer management field.
Human Resources
Human resources consultations are available in a variety of levels from
a 3-hour "sit down" for general information-sharing on a particular
topic to a more comprehensive consultation that may include establishing
a performance evaluation program for staff, evaluating human resources
policies, or conducting executive development and team-building workshops.
Includes online survey focus groups and one-on-one interviews.
Financial Management
Based on your organization's unique needs, consultations may include a
general review of your financial health, budget, and budget development
process; the function of the finance committee and board oversight of
financial matters; relation of operational planning goals to available
funding; and financial record-keeping, reporting and compliance.
