| Future Boards:
Preparing Professionals for Nonprofit Leadership
Future Boards is a two-part series designed for corporations to educate
their employees about board service and nonprofit leadership.
A typical Future Boards series consists of two sessions:
- First Session: 90-minute training on the basics of being a board
member
- Second Session: 90-minute panel presentation from nonprofit leaders
The format typically preferred by clients is to host the two-part series
during extended, brown-bag lunch periods, with a month between the first
and second sessions.
The first session of a Future Boards series educates
professionals on these pertinent topics:
- Things to consider before joining a board
- Benefits of board service
- Differences between for-profit and nonprofit board service
- Essential traits of nonprofit organizations
- Legal obligations and primary responsibilities of nonprofit boards
- Conflict of interest
- Recruitment
- Board passages/types
- Major issues facing nonprofit boards today
- What you can provide to a nonprofit board
- Resources
The second session of a Future Boards series takes the
form of a panel presentation and discussion by leaders of area nonprofit
agencies. The agencies represented can be selected based on feedback from
the company and its associates who are participating in the training.
We are happy to customize the training to meet your specific needs. A
single session can be arranged or the curriculum expanded to better serve
your company’s requirements.
Pricing: The cost of the training is $2,995 for the
two-part series, with a maximum attendance of 30 associates per session.
