| Where are you now and how do you move forward?
An Organizational Assessment:
- Provides a comprehensive look at how well an organization is performing at a designated point in time
- Reviews the strengths and challenges of the organization
- Determines if they are headed in the right direction
Assessments can be the catalyst for planned change, can motivate a sluggish board, and are an excellent document to share with funders to build the case for support.
The Center’s Organizational Assessment makes it easy to collect, organize and evaluate critical information in fourteen major functional areas:
- Mission
- Programs
- Board Leadership
- Executive Leadership
- Organizational Culture
- Strategic and Operational Planning
- Facilities
- HR Administration
- Legal and Risk
- Technology Management
- Marketing Management
- Fund Development
- Financial Administration
- Operational Results and Efficiency
The Basic Assessment includes:
- An online survey of the organization’s board and staff
- An assessment of the organization’s current level of performance compared to promising practices in nonprofit management
- Development of action plans to address one area of need
- Knowledge and tools to address multiple areas of need to build overall capacity and take your organization to the next level including the Performance Maturity Models and Best Practice Guide©.
The Advanced Assessment often precedes a strategic planning process and includes everything from the Basic Assessment, as well as:
- A thorough review of important documents
- Extensive interviews and/or focus groups with key staff, board personnel, and stakeholders
- A comprehensive written report of findings and recommendations
- A presentation to the Board of Directors
